Spermatic cord leiomyosarcoma is an extremely rare disease, with a high likelihood of locoregional recurrence. Radical inguinal orchiectomy with wide excision of surrounding soft tissue is the choice of treatment. We report a patient with spermatic cord leiomyosarcoma that could be interpreted as a paraneoplastic syndrome, with increased serum beta human chorionic gonadotropin (beta-hCG), and beta-hCG in the tumor demonstrated by immunohistochemistry stain. We suggest that beta-hCG could be used as a biological marker in selective cases of spermatic cord leiomyosarcoma.

Key words: Spermatic cord • Leiomyosarcoma • Beta-hCG
