  Supplemental Figure 1: Fraction of viable spermatozoa positive for Alexa-SgI and detected by flow cytometry. Samples from four different individuals (represented by different symbol shapes) were incubated with Alexa-SgI at concentrations between 0.01 and 0.4 µg /10⁶ spermatozoa in a non-Zn²⁺- containing buffer.

  Supplemental Figure 2: SPR analysis of the interaction between Zn²⁺ and SgI without spermatozoa. ZnAc was injected in concentrations from 0 to 50 µM. The highest response was ~40 RU seen at 50 µM ZnAc.
