We have previously reported that incubation of testicular slices with inhibin in the presence of 6 x 10-8 M oFSH resulted in a dose-related reduction in accumulation of cyclic AMP due to a decrease in adenyl cyclase activity. The present study demonstrates that inhibin enhances the cyclic AMP-phosphodiesterase activity in rat testicular tissue. These results suggest an additional mechanism by which cyclic AMP levels in gonadal tissue could be regulated by inhibin.

     Key words: inhibin, cyclic AMP-phosphodiesterase
